Nestled on the banks of the Lamoille river,
Hardwick is located at the junctions of Vermont
routes 14, 15 & 16. Hardwick is steeped in history
from its early days of saw and grist mills, carriage
factory, granite quarries and agriculture. It is
equally distant between Morrisville, Montpelier
and St. Johnsbury.
Hardwick, settled in 1792, is a town of 3,174 people and
has a regional population of over 8,000. The area is rich
in farms but provides the opportunity for commercial
and industrial expansion. Hardwick is a part of
Vermont's Northeast Kingdom, an area of summer
beauty and splendid fall foliage. It is a "must see" for
Vermont tourists.
